We have been busy here at IGF as the year draws to a close.
In late-November we celebrated our IGF community at our annual Giving Thanks Pot-Luck. A few weeks later our Bethel University, Social work interns, shared their artistic talents and homemade gift ideas at our annual “Gifts that Don’t Break the Bank” Self-Care Sunday. Our participants learned that gifting does not have to involve spending a lot of money. With a little creativity and a bit of DIY, participants made Sharpie decorated coffee mugs, brownies in a jar and a variety of essential oil lotions that will surely be appreciated by their recipient. We will be taking a pause from Self-Care Sundays for the next few weeks and will return on January 12, 2020. Please watch our Facebook page and website for topics and meals.
This November our Workshop Team began working elementary aged children in North Saint Paul – Maplewood – Oakdale schools and have enjoyed seeing them learn, grow and enthusiastically share breathing techniques they learned. These skills have used to help calm themselves, with other students, teachers and parents. We are looking forward to continuing our work with these young scholars in the new year!
Speaking of our workshops, we will be holding auditions for new members of our Workshop Facilitation Team on Sunday, January 5, at 2:30P.M. Young adults ages 18 -24 years old, who are interested in social justice, radical self-care, safe-spaces, performance art, health, wellness and being a Leader are encouraged to join us. Please share the Workshop Team Audition flyer with any young adults who you believe may be interested.
We would also like to say Thank You all of our generous donors who have contributed to Irreducible Grace in one of our many giving campaigns in the past few weeks. Since, mid-November we have raised over $4,000!
As the year draws to a close, we wish peace and joy for you and your family. Happy Holidays!
-The Irreducible Grace Team
